The 'Affordable Medicines' program has been expanded

In 2025, the state program 'Affordable Medicines' was expanded. Now the list of medicines that can be obtained for free or at a discount includes drugs that take into account the needs of military personnel.

This was announced by the head of the National Health Service of Ukraine, Natalia Husak, in a comment for Novyny.LIVE.

Special emphasis was placed on the medical support of the military of Ukraine. Natalia Husak noted that there is no intention to create a separate program for veterans, but their needs are taken into account within the scope of the expansion of the 'Affordable Medicines' program.

"Our defenders often have joint problems, chronic illnesses obtained as a result of injuries. These are not only cardiovascular diseases, but also other serious conditions," Husak emphasized.

The program for 2025 already includes many drugs needed by veterans, in particular for the treatment of musculoskeletal problems, heart issues, and other complications. The state is actively adding necessary medications to the existing program instead of creating a separate one for this group of people.

"We are studying the needs and adding these drugs to the 'Affordable Medicines' program," explained Natalia Husak.

Earlier, the head of the National Health Service of Ukraine noted that the 'Affordable Medicines' program is an important tool in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and in assisting patients with chronic illnesses.

The announcement of the expansion of the state program 'Affordable Medicines' for 2025 indicates that specific needs of military personnel and veterans are being considered, including for the treatment of complications resulting from injuries. The addition of necessary medications to the list of affordable medicines will contribute to improving medical care for targeted groups of the population.
