The United Kingdom will hold an emergency meeting to support Ukraine.

Ukraine is trying to gather a group of European leaders to discuss Russia's war against Ukraine. This initiative stems from diplomatic efforts in Paris, Washington, and Kyiv.
The meeting could take place next Sunday and will be a continuation of the summits that occurred last week in Paris under the leadership of French President Emmanuel Macron. Plans may change, but a virtual meeting is also being considered.
European leaders have attempted to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump to refrain from concluding a ceasefire agreement with Russia. They fear that this may embolden Moscow to act and undermine security in Europe. President Macron met with Trump at the White House, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to meet with the U.S. leader in Washington.
Starmer's office declined to comment on these plans.
On his social media, Trump stated that he is conducting 'serious negotiations' with Russian President Vladimir Putin and trying to end the war without the involvement of European countries and Ukraine. This occurred after a meeting of European leaders and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Kyiv, dedicated to the three years of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The planned meeting, organized by the United Kingdom, will allow leaders to summarize the results of their negotiations with Trump and take a unified position.
For the record, Keir Starmer announced a significant increase in the UK's defense spending.
