Ukrainians faced problems of disconnection of electricity, heating, and water supply due to attacks by the Russian Federation on energy facilities before the start of the winter period.
The government decided to address these issues by introducing support programs for the installation of alternative energy sources.
The Ministry of Social Policy has developed a series of changes to the legislation to help Ukrainians with low incomes carry out the instructions of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, which were supported by the Government:
- If a family used significantly less electricity due to disconnection, subsidies and benefits for utilities will be paid out in the previously established amount and will not be reduced.
- The maximum purchase amount, which limits the allocation of subsidies, has been increased from 50 to 100 thousand UAH.
- If a person or family has purchased a generating installation for the production of electricity, its value up to 150 thousand UAH will not be taken into account when allocating subsidies.
It has also become known for what purpose power cuts are carried out even without attacks on energy facilities.
