Ukraine defeated New Zealand in a friendly match in Canada.

The Ukrainian national football team achieved victory over New Zealand with a score of 2:1 at the Canadian Shield tournament in Toronto. The match took place at BMO Field and was the second match for both teams in the tournament. The first half ended without goals, but the second, more exciting half was filled with events.

In the 54th minute, Oleksii Hutsuliak opened the scoring, taking advantage of a moment in the opponent's penalty area. However, just five minutes later, New Zealand's Marco Stamenic equalized.

The decisive goal came in the 75th minute from Oleksandr Zinchenko, helping the Ukrainian team secure their first victory after the defeat against Canada. In the first match of the tournament, the Ukrainians lost to the Canadian team with a score of 4:0.

Poor start against Canada

The initial match for the Ukrainian national team turned out to be difficult. Already in the fourth minute, forward Jonathan David scored a goal and later completed a brace. Near the end of the match, the Ukrainians managed to reduce the deficit: in the 89th minute, Illia Zabarnyi and in the 90+2nd minute, Oleksandr Zinchenko scored goals.
