Ukraine prepares an agritrade strategy with the European Union.

Negotiations between the Ministers of Ukraine and Denmark on trade conditions
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Kovaly, held important negotiations with the Danish Minister for European Affairs, Marie Bjerre, regarding the future trade conditions for agricultural products between Ukraine and the European Union.
The strategic issue of trade rules, which will come into force after June 5, 2025, was at the center of the meeting. Kovaly emphasized the critical importance of developing clear and predictable conditions for bilateral trade, on which the fate of 5 million Ukrainian workers in agriculture depends.
'Denmark is the country that will preside over the Council of the European Union starting July 1. That is why our delegation is here to prepare the ground for constructive dialogue in advance, secure support, and lay the foundation for the decisions that Ukraine needs. We feel complete understanding from the Danish government. They realize that Ukrainian farmers are not a threat but a strengthening of Europe. Instead of barriers, it is important to find points of synergy that unite.'
The main goal of the visit is to ensure unhindered access for Ukrainian farmers to European markets. Kovaly stressed that the country aims to continue mutually beneficial trading conditions, as the Ukrainian agricultural sector provides food for over 400 million people in the world.
Representatives of both countries expressed their readiness for constructive dialogue and the search for mutually beneficial solutions that would support Ukraine's agribusiness sector in the face of modern challenges.
The analysis of the context between the ministers of Ukraine and Denmark indicates a deep understanding of the importance of cooperation in agriculture for both sides. Such negotiations are a step towards improving trade relations between the countries and can help develop agriculture and raise the economic level of both states.
