In Germany, a 17-year-old prepared a large-scale terrorist attack for Christmas - Bild.


A 17-year-old suspect was arrested in the city of Elmshorn in northern Germany for planning a large terrorist attack ahead of Christmas. According to the Bild newspaper, the suspect intended to drive a truck into a crowd during the pre-Christmas period. The Flensburg public prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation on suspicion of a serious act of violence threatening the state. The young man may also be charged with communicating with Islamists in the USA, Iraq, and Morocco.
According to the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (BKA), American intelligence services established during wiretapping that the suspect participated in chats related to the 'Islamic State' group. He expressed a willingness to carry out attacks and planned attacks on 'infidels'. Additionally, the young man was learning to drive in preparation for operating a truck.
German law enforcement also detained a possible accomplice of the suspect. A search was conducted in his apartment, and evidence was found.
It is worth noting that recently, a bloody terrorist attack was prevented in Vienna, which was planned to be carried out at a Taylor Swift concert. The suspect was a nineteen-year-old Austrian who intended to drive into a crowd of fans and attack them with a knife and detonate an improvised bomb.
