As a result of the storm near the city of Bijie in Guizhou province, nine tourists have died. Four cruise ships were capsized by strong winds, reports the publication 'Glavkom' citing Reuters.

84 people ended up in the water due to adverse weather conditions. 74 of them were rescued, one is missing and the search for them continues. Among the injured, 70 people were taken to the hospital, but their condition is stable.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered all necessary measures to be taken for the search and rescue of the tourists. 500 rescuers have been mobilized for this mission. There has also been a call for increased safety measures, as accidents are occurring more frequently at tourist sites and public facilities.

Previously, on May 2, Moscow and its surroundings were hit by a record snowfall for the last 116 years. Over 36 hours, 43 mm of precipitation fell, which constitutes about 70% of the monthly norm according to meteorologists.

Scientists from NASA have also stated that a huge artificial structure in China, known as the 'Three Gorges Dam', may affect the Earth's rotation. The research was presented by doctors from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
