Canada cancels multiple-entry visas for 10 years based on the Schengen principle.

Canada changes visa issuance policy
The government of Canada has decided to review the visa issuance policy and change the rules for obtaining long-term multiple-entry visas. Under the new rules, immigration officials will have more freedom in determining the type and duration of the visa. Tourists will no longer automatically be issued a 10-year multiple-entry visa. This was reported by Vancouverok.
«Multiple-entry visas issued for the maximum term are no longer considered standard documents. This was stated by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).»
The changes in the visa issuance policy will allow immigration officials to better consider the circumstances of the applicants and establish visa conditions according to their needs. As a result, Canada is transitioning to the European approach to issuing Schengen visas, which allows for a more flexible approach to setting visa conditions.
From now on, officials should pay attention to the purpose of the visit, financial status, health condition, and ties to the country of origin. The requirements for evidence supporting the need for a multiple-entry visa will be stricter, especially for trips.
It should be noted that Canada has temporarily suspended the state program that allowed Ukrainian citizens to quickly obtain permanent residence in the country if they had relatives in Canada. This program was designed to support Ukrainian families affected by the war with Russia, but is currently not accepting new applications.
