According to preliminary data, among those killed as a result of the attack on the passenger bus in Sumy region are members of one family - a father, mother, and daughter. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who urged to exert pressure on Russia with sanctions to stop the killings. All the deceased are considered civilians, and the attack was a deliberate murder of civilians.

In the morning of May 17, on the exit from the city of Bilopillia in the Sumy district, a drone attacked a passenger minibus. According to preliminary data, 9 people were killed, and another 7 were injured. SES experts recovered the bodies of the deceased from the mangled vehicle. There were two drones - one reconnaissance drone and another strike drone. There were 13 passengers and the driver in the cabin. According to medical reports, two women are in serious condition.
