Russia faces challenges in evacuating its soldiers from Syria.

Russian military complicate their movement from Homs to Khmeimim
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a significant number of Russian soldiers are afraid of being shelled while moving from Homs province to the airbase in Khmeimim.
Armed groups are taking advantage of the process of withdrawing Russians from Syria, covering their columns with the Russian flag for inconspicuous movement along the M4 highway.
It is also reported that Colonel Dmitry Motrenko met with representatives of other countries in Syria to ensure the security of Russian soldiers near the T4 airfield.
Mercenaries from Russian private military companies, particularly from the 'African Corps,' are actively operating in Syria, protecting Russian units as they move along Syria towards bases on the coast.
About 1000 Russian soldiers are moving from Damascus to Tartus and Khmeimim.
Russia plans to deploy at least 25 military transport aircraft for the evacuation of troops from Syria to Rostov-on-Don, Chkalovsk, and Vladivostok.
It was previously noted that the loss of Russian bases in Syria would lead to a loss of Russia's influence in the Mediterranean, a ban on activities in Africa, and threats from NATO.
ISW analysts believe that the rapid collapse of Assad's regime is a strategic political defeat for Russia, as it puts the Kremlin in a difficult position since it wants to maintain its military base in Syria.
