ICAO Council rejected Iran's attempt to evade responsibility for the downing of the MAU aircraft.

The Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) rejected Iran's appeal regarding the lawsuit by four states, whose citizens died in the downing of the 'International Airlines of Ukraine' (MAU) aircraft in January 2020.
This was reported by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga on social media.
The Minister noted that Iran attempted to evade responsibility for the downing of the civilian aircraft.
'We did not allow Iran to evade responsibility for the downing of flight PS752. Iran attempted to evade responsibility before the ICAO Council,' Sibiga said.
However, the ICAO Council made a decision in favor of the four states.
'However, the Council made a decision in favor of Ukraine, Canada, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, and referred the case for substantive review. We will continue to work together to hold Iran accountable,' Sibiga reported.
Recall that the passenger aircraft Boeing 737-800 NG, which was operating flight PS752 Tehran - Kyiv, crashed on January 8, 2020, immediately after takeoff. There were 176 passengers on board, including citizens of Ukraine, Iran, Canada, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. They all died.
