Captain of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Kaktus Recalls His First Kiss with His Beloved at the NATO Base
In an interview with Army TV, Captain Pavlo, call sign Kaktus, shared his story about the first kiss with his beloved at the NATO base.
Pavlo's father, who was also a military man, was wounded in the leg and hospitalized in a hospital in Lviv. There, his future girlfriend's grandfather was also being treated, which is how the young people met. However, due to Pavlo's service, their acquaintance and communication took place only over the phone. Later, the young officer was sent for training to Italy at a NATO base. Pavlo's beloved, who lived and worked in Dublin, bought tickets to Italy to meet him.
The relatives of the soldiers were allowed to enter the base by arrangement and after verification, but access for outsiders was limited. However, the command made an exception for Pavlo and brought his girlfriend to the base as a translator. The couple was allowed to spend an hour together.
«We kissed at the NATO base, and after that, I love her to madness,» Kaktus recounted.
Additionally, the captain set a record that has not been broken for a quarter of a century. He also spoke about his activities at the front after receiving the title of Hero of Ukraine.
