Germany increased grain imports from Ukraine.

Germany is increasing grain imports from Ukraine
The Federal Government of Germany confirms the growth in the volume of Ukrainian grain imports in recent years and at the same Time refutes negative forecasts regarding its market impact. Grain imports from Ukraine to Germany have increased since 2022, starting from the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine.
In the first half of 2024, import volumes increased to 490 thousand tons. The largest share in imports is corn. In just the first semester of 2024, Germany imported more than 447 thousand tons of corn. Last year, wheat imports were also significant - almost 106 thousand tons. However, from the beginning of 2024 to July, only about 16,500 tons of wheat were registered.
The Federal Government of Germany states that there are no deviations from the necessary standards and requirements during inspections of Ukrainian grain conducted by official inspection in the FRG. According to the government's response to a question from the parliamentary faction "Alternative for Germany", food and feed products imported into the EU from third countries, such as Ukraine, must comply with the requirements of food and feed legislation in force in the EU.
