NBU denies information about blocking cards for frequent cash withdrawals.

The National Bank of Ukraine denies information about the possible blocking of citizens' bank accounts due to frequent cash withdrawals. According to widespread reports on the internet, the NBU demanded strengthening financial monitoring in the country, but there is no official document with such requirements.
It is stated that banks and financial institutions continue to verify their clients in accordance with financial monitoring legislation, considering a risk-oriented approach.
The National Bank urges to trust only official sources and not to pay much attention to fake news spread by anonymous Telegram channels and unreliable media aimed at undermining citizens' trust in Ukraine's financial sector.
Earlier today, January 8, an attack occurred at the storage base for petroleum products 'Crystal Plant' in Engels, Saratov region.
