Hunting for predators is starting in the Vinnytsia region to reduce the spread of rabies. This campaign will take place during December 2024 and January 2025. This was reported by the State Ecological Inspectorate in the Vinnytsia region.
There is an increase in cases of attacks by wild animals infected with rabies in the Vinnytsia region. In this regard, the Defense Council of the Vinnytsia region made a decision on October 15, 2024, to conduct hunting for wild carnivorous animals such as foxes, wolves, and jackals. The goal of these measures is to reduce the population of these animals to a safe level and prevent the spread of rabies.
The Central-Western Interregional Department of Forestry and Hunting Management has developed shooting schedules.
Local hunting farms and other users of hunting grounds have formed special teams to carry out these tasks.
We remind you that the Vinnytsia foresters captured a family of spotted deer, which were caught on camera by employees of the 'Zhmerinka Forestry' branch.
