In Shostka, Sumy region, an incident occurred where a man attacked a police officer and a military service employee. This happened during an identity check when the offender did not comply with police demands, resisted, and used tear gas against the military service employee. At the same Time, during the man's arrest, one of the police officers received bodily injuries.
In connection with this, a criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding threats and violence against law enforcement officers and a public official. According to the law, for such actions, the police can be sentenced to up to five years of imprisonment.
Such cases of conflict between law enforcement officers and citizens are not unique. Recently in Kharkiv, a similar situation occurred when a military service employee pushed a cyclist after the latter did not comply with his demands. Meanwhile, specialists explained that the situation arose because the citizen did not respond to the military's demands and did not present identity documents for inspection.
Recently, a similar incident also occurred in Odesa when a man used tear gas and fired several shots at a military service member during a check. This incident was reported by the police of Odesa region.
