A terrible accident occurred in Brazil when a tanker truck carrying ethanol overturned and caught fire.

The incident took place on the BR-101 highway near the city of Palhosa heading south. The truck transporting ethyl alcohol overturned and ignited. The fire quickly spread to 24 cars and 3 other trucks that were on the road. The flammable liquid was difficult to extinguish, causing complications in battling the blaze.

According to local media, five people were injured, including the truck driver and his wife, who suffered burns and were taken to regional hospitals. No fatalities were reported. Approximately 36 firefighters, including military personnel and volunteers, worked at the scene throughout the day, night, and morning.

After extensive efforts, the BR-101 highway was fully cleared and reopened for traffic at 5:09 AM on April 7.

This incident is an example of the dangers of transporting flammable materials and highlights the importance of adhering to fire safety rules and regulations on the roads.
