Between Summer, Rains, and Autumn Frosts: What to Expect from the Weather in September.

In September 2024, residents of Ukraine can expect warm and moderately humid weather. According to meteorologists' forecasts, the average air temperature will be higher than normal by 2 degrees and will range from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius over most of the country's territory. In the Carpathians, it will be slightly cooler – around 13-14 degrees.
This is reported by 'Hvylya', referring to a forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Meteorologists note that September is traditionally considered a transitional month from summer to autumn. During this period, a general decrease in temperature and a reduction in thunderstorm activity are usually observed. However, this year, warmer weather than usual is expected.
The amount of precipitation in September is forecasted to be within normal limits. Most of Ukraine will receive between 37 and 76 millimeters of precipitation. In the Carpathian region, locally up to 97-111 millimeters is possible.
Despite the general trend towards warming, frosts are also possible. Usually, they are observed in the second and third decades of the month. In some northern and central regions, as well as in the Carpathians, frosts may occur as early as the first decade of September.
It is worth noting that September in Ukraine can be quite a contrasting month. Historical data shows that the absolute minimum temperature this month can drop to 1-7 degrees below zero in most regions, while the maximum can reach 33-38 degrees Celsius.
