Ukraine honors the memory of those lost in the Russian-Ukrainian war
Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all lives taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, let us remember Vladislav Sytyenkyi.
On August 19, 2024, 20-year-old defender Vladislav Sytyenkyi from Lviv lost his life. This was reported by
“Glavcom”citing the Lviv City Council.
Vladislav Sytyenkyi was born on September 20, 2003, in Zaporizhzhia. He studied at Gymnasium No. 14 of the Zaporizhzhia City Council and pursued his education at Zaporizhzhia National University.
According to his relatives, Vladislav exhibited exceptional programming skills and was also interested in cinematography and cooking, preparing very delicious dishes for his family.
Struggle for freedom and independence
After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Vladislav's family moved to Lviv. Immediately after graduation, he volunteered to join the ranks of defenders of the Motherland against Russian invaders. Thanks to his skills in programming and technique, he achieved significant successes in military affairs and was repeatedly recognized by the command.
He performed combat missions in defense of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the eastern direction as part of the mechanized battalion of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade “Kholodny Yar” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The defender's life was cut short on August 19, 2024, but his body could only be returned in May 2025.
The funeral of the soldier took place on May 16 at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Lviv. The defender was buried in Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of Honorable Burials of Modern Heroes.
Vladislav Sytyenkyi is survived by two sisters and a beloved girlfriend.

We remember those lost at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of remembrance, and bow our heads in sorrow during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who perished in the fight against the Russian occupiers and as a result of the enemy army's attack on Ukrainian towns and villages.
Vladislav Sytyenkyi gave his life to defend Ukraine, proving himself to be a true patriot and a highly qualified specialist in the field of programming. His action is an example of selfless service for the good of his country, deserving our respect and recognition.
