Macron called for strong security guarantees for Ukraine.

French President: Peace in Ukraine is possible only with the help of Ukrainians
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that achieving lasting peace in Ukraine requires the agreement and participation of Ukrainians in the peace negotiations. The West must provide future Ukraine with necessary security guarantees.
During a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Macron emphasized Poland's role in providing military, logistical, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. He stressed that France and Poland are in agreement regarding their support for Ukraine at this stage, as Russian troops advance.
'We also share a common view of the future: only lasting peace is possible, and it must be achieved by Ukrainians through negotiations. It is necessary to provide Ukrainians with strong security guarantees,' Macron emphasized.
The French President also noted that without the agreement of Ukrainians, peace in Ukraine is impossible. He highlighted the importance of discussing security in Europe, as security in Ukraine is of great significance for all of Europe.
Macron pointed out that in the future, it is necessary to provide Ukraine with 'appropriate security guarantees'. He also reported on negotiations at the European Council meeting next week, where the G7 countries' decision to allocate 50 billion euros to Ukraine will be discussed.
