Corruption in 'Kyivzelenbud' - one of the former executives detained.

In Kyiv, one of the former leaders of the municipal enterprise 'Kyivzelenbud' has been detained. He is suspected of embezzling almost 350 thousand hryvnias of budget funds allocated for the reconstruction of a park in the Darnytsia district.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office on Monday, July 14.

Details of the scheme

According to law enforcement, the suspect signed acts of completed work with inflated costs of the project-estimate documentation regarding the repair of the recreation park in the area between Mykola Bazhan Avenue and Sribnokilskyi Street near Sribnyi Kil Lake.

'As a result, the Kyiv city budget suffered losses of almost 350 thousand hryvnias — this is the amount that the municipal enterprise overpaid for the design work.'

The prosecutor's office added that the detention was conducted under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

'The actions of the suspect were qualified under part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — embezzlement of property in particularly large amounts, committed by abusing official position under martial law.'

Earlier, we reported that the municipal enterprise 'Kyivzelenbud' transferred the decorative nursery 'Teremky' to the ownership of the sister of a former prosecutor. It was also noted that 18 indictments against 20 individuals from 'Kyivzelenbud' were sent to court.

As a result of the detention of one of the former leaders of 'Kyivzelenbud', suspicions were discovered regarding the embezzlement of budget funds for the reconstruction of a park in the Darnytsia district. The authorities continue their fight against corruption in the municipal sector, as well as examine possible attempts to interfere with ownership and financial transactions related to this object.
