The end of the 'graduate loophole'? Nearly 5 thousand students expelled from universities.

According to Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, this year more than 4-5 thousand graduate students have already been expelled from universities due to strict checks and quality requirements for education. This has become a serious problem that is being addressed by both the Ministry of Education and the educational institutions themselves.
In particular, after the introduction of a new regulation regarding deferral of mobilization for graduate students, the conditions of the admission campaign have changed. Universities have started to actively check the quality of students' education. According to Vynnytskyi, the number of men entering graduate school has begun to rise, which requires attention and control.
“Not only the state checks – we trust our educational institutions,” emphasized Vynnytskyi. “Many universities identify graduate students who do not follow the educational program, dissertations, and do not engage in research.”
It is important to note that Lutsk National Technical University expelled more than a thousand graduate students for violating the curriculum without special checks from the ministry. This is a noteworthy example for institutions that aspire to quality education and care about their reputation.
Choice of specialties and labor market needs
It should also be noted that Ukrainian applicants often choose specialties that already have a sufficient number of specialists in the labor market. According to the deputy minister, the choice of a future profession should be aligned with the real needs of the modern labor market.
Ukrainian universities are increasing control over the quality of education for graduate students, expelling those who do not comply with educational conditions. This will contribute to improving the overall quality of education in the country and preparing specialists who meet the needs of the modern labor market.
