The Cabinet changed the rules of car insurance: what surprises await drivers.

The Ukrainian government has changed the Traffic Rules concerning mandatory car insurance. According to the new rules, all drivers, regardless of previous exemptions, must have a policy of mandatory civil liability insurance, including combatants.
One of the provisions of the Traffic Rules that exempted certain categories of citizens from insurance has been removed. Now every driver must have a valid insurance policy in paper or electronic form.
According to the rules, 'the driver must carry a valid insurance policy or insurance certificate 'Green Card'.'
These changes were made to align the Traffic Rules with the requirements of the Law on mandatory civil liability insurance for owners of land vehicles. Drivers previously exempt from insurance are no longer required to carry supporting documents.
It is also worth noting that pensioner drivers will receive car insurance with a 50% discount.
