European countries, including the UK and France, are exploring options for peace proposals for Ukraine after the conflict between Trump and Zelensky. Press secretary Keir Starmer indicated that several options are under consideration, but did not comment further.
France, the UK, and other European countries are proposing to send troops to Ukraine after a ceasefire, but this requires support from the US. Zelensky is demanding clear security guarantees from the West, but Trump is refusing to provide them.
Macron's proposal for a month-long truce
French President Macron proposed a month-long truce that could be the first step towards peace talks. So far, there is no public support from other allies.
According to Macron's proposal, ground forces will be deployed after the first stage of the truce. Zelensky stated that he is aware of this.
Conflict in the Oval Office
