France accused the Russian military intelligence of cyberattacks.

France has recognized the Russian military intelligence as responsible for cyberattacks
It has been officially established that the Russian military intelligence was behind the cyberattacks on the TV5Monde television channel in 2015 and the hacking of the email of French President Emmanuel Macron's campaign team during the presidential election. This was reported by France's Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot.
According to him, the Russian military had been conducting cyberattacks on France for several years, using a hacking group called Apt28.
Apt28 is subject to sanctions by the United States and EU countries. According to the French Foreign Ministry, this hacker group attacked French institutions, including those related to the 2024 Olympic Games. It also interfered in the French elections of 2017.
Apt28 also attacked Ukraine and other European countries.
The French Foreign Ministry stated that such cyberattacks are unacceptable, especially from Russia, which is a permanent member of the UN Security Council. Russia's actions contradict the international norms it officially supports.
Previously, an operation was carried out in the Czech Republic to neutralize an international hacking group in cooperation with the security service and law enforcement agencies.
Moreover, the Russian hacking group Cozy Bear (or Apt29), linked to Russian special services, attempted to trick European diplomats into downloading malicious software by concocting an invitation to a wine tasting.
It is worth noting that US efforts to assist Ukraine in defending against Russian cyberattacks were reduced due to the interference of the Trump administration.
