Financial Times: Ukraine considers compromises, and Biden may expedite NATO membership.


Ukraine turned to Western partners for security guarantees
Financial Times published an article about the difficult situation in Ukraine. Western diplomats reported that Ukrainian officials have become more open to the possibility of a ceasefire, even with the presence of Russian troops in occupied territories.
"The most important thing for us is security guarantees. The right ones. Otherwise, this will not end the war but simply provoke another one," said an unnamed Ukrainian official.
Also, according to an unnamed senior Western official, NATO membership is the only solution for Ukraine. There are certain signs that US President Joe Biden might advance Ukraine's NATO membership application status before the end of his presidential term.
Some experts have suggested a membership model similar to that conducted for West Germany, which lasted over three decades. Previously, the Office of the President of Ukraine stated that there are no plans to end the conflict or transfer territories to Russia. President Zelensky has a "victory plan," but its details remain unknown for now.
