EU calls for increased military support for Ukraine following massive RF attack.

European Union calls for increased military support for Ukraine
The European Union firmly condemned the massive air attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine and called for heightened military support for our country, according to a statement by the EU delivered at a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.
"August 24 marks 30 months since the beginning of Russia's illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 – an attack on our shared values and security, carried out with complete disregard for international law, including the UN Charter, as well as principles and commitments within the OSCE. 30 months later, Russia continues its brutal shelling of civilian populations and civilian infrastructure across Ukraine..."
The European Union strongly condemned the Russian practice of "indiscriminate strikes on populated areas and civilian objects, which continues to cause deaths, human suffering, mass destruction, displacement, and a sharp increase in humanitarian needs."
It is emphasized that targeted attacks on civilian populations and civilian objects constitute a war crime. "The political and military leadership of Russia, as well as individuals directly responsible for these attacks, will not escape accountability for waging an aggressive war against Ukraine and for other most serious crimes under international law, as well as for the enormous damages caused by Russia's war"
The authors stressed the need to increase military support for Ukraine.
"As Ukraine exercises its inherent right to self-defense, we call for increased military support for it. In particular, air defense systems, ammunition, and missiles are urgently needed to protect the population and critically important energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Military support will be provided in full accordance with the security and defense policies of individual member states and taking into account the security and defense interests of all member states," the European Union pointed out.
