Up to 7330 hryvnias: a housing rent compensation program for IDPs has been launched in Ukraine.


Ukraine introduces a new subsidy project for renting housing for internally displaced persons
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a new project that will allow internally displaced persons to receive a subsidy for housing rent. The program is aimed at supporting internally displaced persons and those who rent out housing to them. Participants of the project can be individuals with IDP status who spend more than 20% of their income on rent. To receive the subsidy, one must meet several criteria, including the absence of owned housing in Ukraine-controlled territory, a connection between the landlord and the tenant, and formal registration of the rental agreement. The amount of the subsidy is calculated individually based on income levels and rental costs. The program is set to last for 2 years and will come into effect in January 2027.
In addition, the Pension Fund of Ukraine financed housing subsidy payments in February 2025 amounting to 4919.9 million hryvnias, which covered internally displaced persons.
