The Russian Black Sea Fleet is in a state of blockade - expert.

Retired Captain First Rank, Andriy Ryzhenko, stated that the Russian Black Sea Fleet ships are currently in blockade due to the asymmetrical actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian Black Sea Fleet was created for combat operations in the Black and Mediterranean Seas. According to the expert, the majority of the ships were to perform tasks in the Mediterranean Sea, while other ships were supposed to find and fight enemy submarines and also attack approaching ships in the Black Sea with missile systems. However, after the occupation of Crimea in 2014, the tasks of the Black Sea Fleet changed.
Now, Ryzhenko pointed out, the tasks for which the fleet ships were prepared have become irrelevant. He explained that there are no submarines in the Black Sea and no enemy surface ships to attack. For this reason, the main task of the fleet remains blocking shipping. Furthermore, landing marine troops is also problematic due to the potential threat of armed confrontation. Another danger for Ukraine, according to Ryzhenko, is missile strikes that could be launched from the ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
The expert's conclusion is that the Russian Black Sea Fleet is in a state of blockade because there is a serious threat of being damaged or destroyed when leaving the port.
