Prices in Ukraine: Will Food Prices Rise by the End of the Year.

Food prices began to rise at the end of October after a long period of stabilization. According to expert Oleg Pendzin, prices may stabilize by mid-December, but with the preparations for the holidays, the cost of meat, cheese, eggs, and other products will start to rise again.
'I think it will calm down a bit by mid-December. But in mid-December, preparations for the holidays will begin. Prices for meat, cheeses, eggs, and everything else will start to rise again, as these products are necessary for the New Year's and Christmas table,' said the expert.
It is expected that the holiday period will stimulate price increases, as people will be setting the festive table twice. However, after the holiday season, the rise in prices should slow down and stabilize.
Members of parliament also confirm these forecasts. At a briefing, committee member of the Verkhovna Rada on agricultural and land policy, Dmytro Solomchuk, stated that prices for the main categories of food products in Ukraine will rise not only in winter but also in spring 2025.
'In spring, we will observe an increase in vegetable imports, which will be purchased in euros. This will affect the cost of products, which will be significantly higher,' Solomchuk explained.
He pointed to the following food products:
- Meat and eggs. Their prices continue to rise due to the increase in grain prices, which are the basis for the production of feed.
- Oil. The rise in sunflower oil prices is attributed to the effects of drought in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, where sunflowers are traditionally grown.
