Freestyle World Championship: Ukraine Wins Silver in Team Events for the First Time in History.


The Ukrainian national team in ski acrobatics won its debut silver medal at the World Championship in Engadin, Switzerland. This happened in the grand final of the mixed team competition.
The first events in ski acrobatics were the mixed team competitions. They began immediately with the final, in which seven national teams participated, including Ukraine.
The "blue-yellow" team was represented by three ski acrobats: one woman and two men – Angelina Brykina, as well as the reigning bronze medalists of the World Championship in this discipline, Oleksandr Okipniuk and Dmytro Kotovskyi.
How the Mixed Team Events of the 2025 World Championship in Ski Acrobatics Went
In the final, teams competed for a spot in the top-4 race, which led to the grand final for the World Championship medals.
First to perform for Ukraine was Angelina Brykina. She fell upon landing and received a score of 60.16 points from the judges – the second-worst result of the attempt. Following her, Oleksandr Okipniuk performed the second jump, receiving a score of 110.86 points, which elevated Ukraine to the fifth position.
Last to start was Dmytro Kotovskyi, who received 115.05 points for his jump. Overall, Ukraine scored 286.07 points from three attempts, finishing in fourth place, qualifying for the grand final, surpassing Canada by 11.18 points.
In the grand final, each ski acrobat had another jump attempt. Brykina started with a score of 57.96 points, after which Okipniuk achieved 121.27 points, moving Ukraine into third place.
Ukraine's last attempt came from Kotovskyi, who decided to take the highest difficulty in the grand final, executing the "Hurricane" jump. For this, Dmytro received 133.12 points.
Overall, in the grand final, Ukraine scored 312.35 points and won its debut "silver" in the competition.
